Thrill Seekers Wanted for Dubai Marina’s XLine Zip Line
If you’re the kind of person who scoffs at the idea of a cup of coffee to wake you up and would much rather dive off a cliff, jump out of a plane or dangle from incredible heights, then we might just have one of the best things for you to do in Dubai.
XLine Dubai will be making a comeback with their signature cross-city zip lines with a fantastic new addition at the Dubai Marina. This intense zip line experience is going to offer residents and tourists the opportunity to fly across one of the most iconic areas of Dubai at insane speeds and heights in order to give you the absolute best and most memorable experience of Dubai.
XLine Dubai’s First Adrenaline Junkie Fix
The first time XLine Dubai decided to set up a zip line like this was over two years ago when a zip line was set up between the W1 Hotel and the world famous Dubai Mall and took a path right across the iconic Dubai Fountain display and in front of the World’s Tallest Building, the Burj Khalifa.
This first zip line would start you off from a 90 metre (295 ft) tall platform where you would begin your descent and travel 558 metres (1,830 ft) through the air until you reached your destination. You’d be whisked across the sky and given one of the best views of Downtown Dubai that you could possibly get.
However, this time they’re taking it to the next level, literally.
The Latest and Greatest XLine Event
XLine Dubai is back with a vengeance with their brand new zip line spanning across the Dubai Marina. This brand new initiative is touted as being the world’s longest urban zip line. The zip line is intended to become a major tourist attraction and I’m sure some of our very own residents will be taking a turn at it, too.
The zip line begins at a platform situated at the Amwaj Towers at 170 metres (557 ft) in the air and finishes at the Dubai Marina Mall. The whole zip line covers a total length of 1 kilometre (3,280 ft) and you’ll reach speeds of up to 60 km/h (37mph) within 2.5 seconds of launching and with an expected maximum speed of around 80km/h (49mph). That’s seriously fast.
One of the most unique things about the new XLine Dubai Marina Zip line is you can decide to either travel the zip line solo or you can bring along somebody else and go down together in tandem. There are two lines set up next to each other.
The XLine Dubai Marina zip line is going to be open from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM Sunday to Thursday and then 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.
If you want to take a ride down the XLine Dubai Marina zip line, you need to be between the ages of 12 and 65, you must be taller than 130cm and you must weigh between 50kg (110lbs) and 100kg (220lbs).
How much is this once in a lifetime opportunity?
If you’re planning on travelling the XLine Dubai Marina zip line solo, it’s going to cost 650 AED (£132) but if you’re planning on using both lines and going down as a two, you can save a little by paying just 1,200 AED (£244). Split the cost and it’s only 600 AED (£122) each!
