Things to do in Sports City

Sports City is undoubtedly the centre of sports, fitness and athleticism in Dubai.  This area of Dubai is home to a number of sports venues and covers an incredible area of more than 50 million square feet of sports-centric development.  Opened up in 2008, Dubai Sports City has since become one of the best places to be in Dubai when it comes to sports.  Dubai Sports City is an incredible place and has a huge cricket stadium, the Els Golf Club, a Rugby Park, the ICC Academy and the Spanish Soccer Schools.  Not only that, but there are a number of fantastic things you can do in and around Sports City.

Kickers

What it is:  This dual-zoned sports bar is one of the best hotspots in Dubai for watching live sporting events, meeting up with a group of friends and playing a few games of pool.  Incredible food with massive portions as well as an area for alcohol and one without means this sports bar caters to everybody.

When to go:  Kickers is open every day from 12:00 PM noon until 12:00 AM midnight.

Fit Republik

What it is:  If you’re looking to bulk up or trim down, Fit Republik might just be the best gym for you.  This huge gym is known as being the largest gym in the region and has equipment to fit everybody’s training style.

When to go:  Open every day from 5:00 AM until 10:00 PM.

Nathalie’s

What it is:  This is the café to visit if you’re looking to meet your macros and load up on the nutrients you need either pre or post workout.  Attached to Fit Republik, you can get your post-workout protein by just wandering over to Nathalie’s instead of heading home and preparing your own.  They serve a variety of healthy and delicious drinks and food, so have a look through their menu and see what fits in with your regime.

When to go:  Open daily from 7:00 AM until 10:00 PM.

Bootcamp

What it is:  If you’re serious about getting fit, there are no better ways than by attending some of the gruelling boot camps that are available and the boot camp under Brendan Rawlings in Sports City is quite possibly one of the absolute best.  You’ll be running around a track, taking part in HIIT and more to really condition yourself into greatness for only 80 AED (£15.50) per class.

When to go:  The classes are on Monday and Wednesday from 7:00 PM and then on Saturday at 6:30 PM.

The Dome

What it is:  This massive indoor sports venue is a brilliant location for sports themed parties, group workout sessions, football matches and more.

When to go:  Open daily from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM.
