Longest Zip Line in The World is in RAK

The United Arab Emirates seems to have quite the fancy for breaking world records and with more than 324 of the Guinness World Records attributed to the United Arab Emirates, they’re not doing bad.  Another brand new world recording breaker has just been added to the UAE’s long list of fantastic things to do, but if you’re up for a thrill, try out the brand new zip line at Ras Al Khaimah.

Jebel Jais Flight

This absolutely incredible experience is a 2.83 km (1.75 miles) long zip line that travels right across the Jebel Jais chasm, covering an incredible distance at speeds of up to 150 km/h (93.2mph).

You’ll start your journey by travelling to the very top of the Jebel Jais Mountain in Ras Al-Khaimah, where you’ll meet with the staff at the welcome centre.  They’ll show you around, if you like, and you can take advantage of the amazing vantage point to take some brilliant Instagram snaps.  You’ll be walked through all of the safety information you need to know during your flight, and then you’ll be given a specially designed flight suit ready for your flight.

Once you’ve donned your flight suit, you’ll be taken out onto the launch platform where you’ll be attached to the harness in a forward facing, ‘Superman-style,’ position at a height of around 1,680 metres (5,511 ft.) above the ground before heading down the zip line.  The whole journey will take around two to three minutes and will end up at a specially designed transparent platform, where you’ll be prepared for your second zip line of the day, a 1km long ride that’ll bring you back down to the ground.

Of course, this experience, like others, is often best shared with a friend or loved one, so why not choose to go down together?  Jebel Jais Flight offers a second zip line side-by-side, where you can ride down with another person of your choice if you feel like sharing this unique opportunity as Pilots and Fliers.

Location and Timing

If you think you’re up for the challenge of enjoying the world’s longest ever zip line, you’ll have to head to the top of Jebel Jais Mountain in Ras Al-Khaimah.

You’ll be able to book a slot between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Cost

To enjoy this fantastic world record breaking zip line, it’ll cost around 650 AED (£124) per person and you’ll have to book it here.
