The Great British Pie in Dubai

Us Brits have a special place in our hearts where we hold one item of food above all else, the humble Great British pie.  Whether you’re a knife and fork kind of pie person or a pick-up-and-chomper, we bet you’ve got one pie in mind that always goes down an absolute treat.

Of course, we’re talking about the chicken pie.  These savoury pastries are one of the most versatile foods that go with absolutely everything, fit almost any occasion and are best washed down with a great drink.

Get your perfect chicken pie from these top restaurants while you enjoy your affordable hotel in Dubai.

True British Atmosphere

What it is:  Reform Social & Grill is one of our favourite places when we’re looking for something that brings us back to Blighty without the seven to eight hour plane time and when you time it right, their revolving menu of pie fillings will line up just right and you’ll be able to get a fantastic chicken pie for a great price.

Where to go:  Reform Social & Grill at The Lakes.

When to go:  Open daily from 8:00 AM until 12:00 AM midnight.

How much it’ll cost:  This one will cost about 118 AED (£22.50) but it’s a full meal with chips, too.

Elegance With a Side of Mushy Peas

What it is:  An elegant and luxurious setting at the Palm Jumeirah, this yacht-side restaurant is known for being one of the best places if you’re looking for seafood in Dubai but they’ve also managed to somehow corner the market with their pie of the day offering.  Again, when you get the timing right you’ll get the perfect British chicken pie, chips and mushy peas.

Where to go:  Senara at The Palm Jumeirah.

When to go:  You can go on a Sunday to Thursday from 12:00 PM noon until 11:00 PM and then Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 AM midnight.

How much it’ll cost:  This pie will cost around 100 AED (£20).

Downtown Dubai’s Pie Place

What it is:  Baker & Spice gives you an iconic view of the Dubai Fountains display and the world-record holding tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, while you dig into your chicken, mushroom, spinach and cream pie.  Delicious food and the perfect view.

Where to go:  Baker & Spice at Souk Al Bahar in Downtown Dubai.

When to go:  They’re open daily from 8:00 AM until 11:00 PM.

How much it’ll cost:  This one costs only 85 AED (£16).

Casual and Relaxed

What it is:  This casual dining spot is quite laid back and the perfect setting when you’re looking to just dig right in to a delicious homemade pie.  I don’t think I’ve ever managed to eat a pie without chucking about a kilogram of crumbs everywhere, so this relaxed atmosphere means you don’t worry too much about making a mess.

Where to go:  Izu Brasserie is at City Walk.

When to go:  Izu Brasserie and Baker is open from Sunday to Wednesday from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM and then Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:00 AM until 1:00 AM.
