Get Your Culture Fix in Dubai
Believe it or not, you’ll usually hear people complaining about Dubai’s lack of culture but if you took some time to scratch the surface you’ll find that Dubai and the United Arab Emirates actually has a rich and long cultural history. Although the United Arab Emirates may only be a relatively new country, having only been founded in 1971, Dubai has built up an amazing cultural identity in the recent years.

Visit a Unique Installation
What it is: This is a pretty cool public art installation in Dubai, curated by Mari Spirito that features a temporary room built around a tree with a bird catching net. A unique art piece with a fantastic message behind it.
Where to go: Head down to The Yard at Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz.
When to go: You can visit this piece from the 19th of March any day from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM.
Enjoy A Recital
What it is: If you’re the kind of person who enjoys the spoken word, this poetry performance will be one of the top events in Dubai for this year. Entry will cost 75 AED (£15) per person.
Where to go: You can visit Dubai Opera at Downtown Dubai.
When to go: Any day after the 6th of March from 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM.
Hear From An Expert
What it is: One of the most fascinating about artists is simply listening to them talk and understanding how their mind works, and you can sit down and listen to Rose Balston, the art historian and lecturer, who’s going to be talking about the revolution of the 17th century Spanish Court by Velazquez.
Where to go: Watch the talk at the XVA Gallery at Al Fahidi Neighbourhood in Bur Dubai.
When to go: It takes place only on March 14th from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
