Chinese New Year Celebrations in Dubai
If you’re hoping to ring in the Year of the Dog with some great celebrations centred around the Chinese New Year this 2018 in Dubai, well, you’ll be glad to know there are loads of great events around town to see, take part in and do to help you celebrate in style.
Whether you’re looking for something iconic and traditional, impressive and modern or just a regular old firework display to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Dubai, you’ll find it all right here. Don’t forget to check out some of these hotels in Dubai for Chinese New Year.
Riverlands Dubai, located out on Sheikh Zayed Road within the Dubai Parks and Resorts complex, has been the venue of choice for a lot of some of the most impressive firework displays in Dubai and 2018 sets out to be no different. Riverlands Dubai is completely free to enter, you don’t need a ticket to any of the parks to gain entry and you’ll be able to celebrate alongside others at the grand Chinese New Year Temple Fair, where you’ll be treated to a number of cultural activities, traditional markets and then, finally, of course, a fabulous firework display.
Of course, while you’re at Riverlands Dubai you can always pop over into some of the fantastic theme parks which are accessible from Riverlands, such as Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks, LEGOLAND Dubai and LEGOLAND Waterpark Dubai.
If you’re looking for something ultra-modern, exciting and breathtaking to do this Chinese New Year, why not honour one of the most ancient traditions of China, drinking tea, by settling in for some afternoon tea at At.mosphere, the restaurant located on the 122nd level of the Burj Khalifa? With a view over all of Dubai, you’ll be able to enjoy this, ‘high tea,’ in a unique and fashionable way.
You’ll find At.mosphere through the Armani Hotel at the Burj Khalifa, and by visiting At.mosphere you’ll also get yourself a Chinese New Year discount of 10% off anything from Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, EA7 and Armani Jeans at Dubai Mall.
You can enjoy this afternoon tea from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM.
Of course, one of the most culturally enriched parts of Dubai is Global Village, where you can walk from pavilion to pavilion and enjoy a showcase of culture from more than 75 countries. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported around the world by visiting each pavilion from each country and sample food, live entertainment and unique products from the many retail units within them.
For Chinese New Year, the China Pavilion will be celebrating the Year of the Dog with traditional handicrafts and delicious Chinese traditional food.
Global Village costs only 15 AED (£3) to enter per person.
